AI Agents vs Traditional Automation

Choose rules and AI according to the task, then apply the same discipline to permissions and verification.

Traditional automation follows explicitly defined steps and conditions. It is a strong fit for known calculations, structured data movement and routing based on stable rules. A process does not need an AI agent simply because it is repetitive.

AI agents can support tasks that involve interpreting varied inputs, gathering context or preparing an output from several sources. That flexibility also creates uncertainty, so a plausible response needs checks before it becomes business action.

A useful workflow can combine both approaches. Rules can validate a required field or an expiry date, while an AI role extracts candidate information from a document. Another check compares the candidate with the source before it is accepted.

Both approaches need permission boundaries, error handling and accountable ownership. Tool access should be scoped to the task, and an exception should follow a defined route rather than silently bypassing a rule.

Siayar Technologies LLC starts with the business process and chooses the simplest suitable approach. The desired outcome determines the design; the presence of AI is not the success measure.
